Day 30: 12/07/17 Rueil to Paris!!!!

Our much awaited day started particularly early, especially considering the unplanned late night previously! We got up to a bit of a miserable day but got started before breakfast and before the kids were up in order to get to Paris before the tourist boats started filling the Seine. It seemed very quickly that we reached todays lock and then the banks became noticeably more urban, with not only apartment blocks but many interesting houseboats as well as a surprising number of shacks and tents which must have housed homeless people.

Very soon we got our first glimpse of the Eiffel Tower and we had the magic of motoring through the capital city in our own boat.

Patrick took the helm and I pointed out the landmarks to the kids.

We timed the one way system perfectly as the traffic lights turned green just as we got there, and after a little misunderstanding of the lights at the entrance to Paris Arsenal Lock we were in.

A relaxing afternoon and hopefully an early night to follow!
