Day 39: 21/07/17 Nice to be travelling again... Disney here we come!

It was with a little trepidation that we set of this morning. Although all logic said that our fix to the seacock was fine, it was a little daunting to leave the relative safety of Paris Arsenal Marina and commit to a 10+ day journey to the place we can haul out and get a permanent fix. Luckily the slight ingress of water seemed to be getting less as the day went on and we started to relax a little.

We braved our first tunnel and enjoyed motoring on the somewhat more peaceful Marne. After a while we stopped at the last good fuelling pontoon on this leg of the journey only to be caught up by Paul and Carol. They weren't heading as far as us today but it was nice to motor in company for a while. As we came to the next lock Paul and Carol headed off to the marina they wanted to spend the night  only to emerge very shortly after as it was too shallow... we were now both heading for Langly.

As we approached the pontoon it looked depressingly busy. We saw Paul eye up one gap and decide it was too small, and then take the only big space left. Not a big problem as I'm sure he wouldn't mind us rafting alongside but Patrick thought we could fit in the gap so we did a couple of flybys, hailed Carol and Paul to catch our lines and squeezed into the gap. Nicely done Karen!

We spent a little time checking the bilge pump and very shortly Carol popped by with a bus timetable for Disney. I decided to take a walk to check taxi prices as the last bus back was a bit late, but the earlier one was too early for the fireworks. I got distracted and found free kids activities in a park so hot footed it back to the boat to get the kids.

We spent a pleasant hour and a half at the park, shooting arrows, building, and playing, before heading back to the boat for tea and hopefully an early night ready for Disney tomorrow. Luckily Paul and Carol are staying tomorrow too so will keep an eye on Laurin and the dodgy sea cock for us as they are coming and going.

A beautiful evening in a beautiful place!
